Presque Isle Park – Marquette Michigan Attractions
Presque Isle Park is an exceptionally scenic peninsula at the northern entrance to Marquette Harbor featuring a maze of winding paths with a blend of vistas through luscious wooded areas or along the dramatic, rocky, Lake Superior shoreline. You can venture to Presque Isle Park’s famous Sunset Point and watch nature do its magic or take an excursion through the park on foot, by bicycle, or in an automobile.
The Park was designed by Olmsted–the same designer of New York City’s Central Park, and special features of the park include: a wooden band shell for concerts, a gazebo, a marina, playground facilities, and Moosewood Nature Center. The park has five miles of trails that wind through the woods of birch and evergreens where wildlife abounds.
In winter, groomed, cross-country ski trails afford views of the frozen peaks of lake ice that defy description.
Presque Isle Park is aesthetically striking because of its red rock formations against vivid greenery and surrounded by the gorgeous, white-crested blue waters of Lake Superior. Beyond beautiful, Presque Isle Park is a must-see destination on your visit to Marquette.
